best low-profile centerbolts?

The ones I put on the 406 are my originals and are looking kinda ratty. I want some NICE (not cheap stamped chrome crap) centerbolts that are tough & won't leak. I don't think I can run a tall one since the rear a/c bracket on my car (stock '87 setup) hangs over the covers.

Anyone have any suggestions...preferably with links to pics?

Re: best low-profile centerbolts?

I just bought a set of Proform covers yesterday. Very nice pieces, and they're only 1/4" taller than stock centerbolts.

You might be better off getting your stockers powdercoated. You can get them any color you want, including reflective (looks about like polished aluminum) and you KNOW they'll fit without clearance issues. You might even spend a little less money, depending on who you get to coat them and what kind of finish you get.

yea i got the proform polished too...very very nice pieces....they don't look any bigger than the stockers, just the inside is gutted out to increase clearance...

I asked the same question on the 3rdgen mailing list & they all said the proforms were junk. Something about them being flimsy & leaking. You guys don't have any leaks then?

the chromed steel proforms are junk, but the cast aluminum ones are pretty good pieces

I agree with the above post. Just powder coat your stockers or pick up another stock set to be coated. Allen
