check out lingenfelter. http://www.lingenfelter.com/

and SLP http://www.slponline.com/car.asp?C=1982-1992%20F-Body

these two are pretty expensive, but there are a few header/exhaust combo's available and while they are expensive they are also known to be some of the best tuners in the gm world

Re: best exhaust?

lol no he doesnt

what motor is it? if you put too big of an exhaust itll hurt your performance.

understand something simple when it comes to airflow. Smaller openings the air travels faster or at a higher velocity. Bigger openings more air flows through but at a lower velocity.

Volume - horsepower
Velocity- Torque

Go to big and youre gonna gain minimal hp cause its not a powerful motor and youre going to lose tons of tq.

So the best exhaust system is not the same for everyone.
Also take into consideration future plans for the car.

Re: best exhaust?

im not saying he needs to 3in like me but he can still do 2 1/4 or 2 1/2 duals. i love the sound of duals on a car.

Re: best exhaust?

a cat-back exhaust would be one of the easiest. I went with 3" hooker cat-back, sounds quiet at idle but loud at full throttle.

Re: best exhaust?

be very wary of putting duals on your camaro if you have any speedbumps in your area lol

you will definately sacrifice ground clearance the 2 1/2 in duals on my 83 z28 are only about 3 inches off the ground and they are routed around the ends of the tranny brace and as close to the floorpan as possible i didnt have and problems doing the same thing with my 87 firebird tho i have plenty of clearance. i think the previos owner mght have lowered the camaro a little just something to check out before you get there and also know that no matter what headers you get they wont fit right and you will most likely have to dent them or do some grinding on the a arms to get them to fit

What he said....I have 3" duals that exit out the back (looks stock-ish) and I scrape like a madman everywhere...driveways, speed bumps, etc. Also, my cat/s went bad and I got the lovely SES light that I verified was bad cats.......and my guess is it didn't help that they get scraped and banged around like crazy...since the entire system (brand new cats, mufflers, etc) is only 18 months old.

Re: best exhaust?

i might be wrong but im not sure if you will want that freeflowing of an exhaust with a procharger, seems i read somwhere that there has to be a lil backpressure for max power could be thinking turbo tho lol

My buddy has an '02 with 2.5" true duals and his car is Procharged as well......didn't hurt his power any, over 450 rwhp with stock heads and cam.

Re: best exhaust?

Dynomax shorty headers, custom y-pipe, high flow cat, 3" I-pipe, Pacessetter muffler.
