beehive valve spring question?

This is going to sound stupid to some of you, but here goes. How do I go about using the comp 26918 valve springs in a head with spring pockets that already hold 1.46 springs? Thanks

Did you mean to reply to "12Second3rdgen" or start your own thread?

If you have to ask, take it to a machine shop. Better yet, have the head set up properly by a porting shop and cleaned up as well.

You need to buy the valve spring locators that are designed for the 918 valve springs. Of course the retainers as well. The beehive spring is a little over 1 inch in diameter. Certainly smaller than the 1.46" ones that you have now. You will have to check for the installed height.

Thanks for the reply, I found the locators at summit and armed with my valvespring micrometer I'll probably be able to figure it out. Even if I do ask stupid questions.

It's better to ask stupid questions than not ask any questions and make supid mistakes. Besides stupid replies are free around here, take as many as you want.
