Battery very dead wtf
Battery very dead wtf
Okay so my car is sitting in the garage I am not touching it and if i don't start it for a week it doesn't want to start too well... low power... now I havn't started it since I don't remember when and it is almost completely dead... is this normal? ALso after how long of not starting an engine should you prime it?
All cars seem to be a little different. You also have to take into account the age of the battery, charging system, condition of said items, the newer the car the more things seem to continue to draw power even when the car is off, etc.
okay but this seems to be going tooo fast... also it is an 85 camaro... computer seems to be disconnected.. anywas other than computer and radio clock what the hell else draws power??? is it just loss due to the circut being inefficant?
doa battery
Heres a suggestion for you. Slow charge your battery overnight. You must have a fully charged battery to test its strength. Then,
take your car to your local AutoZone for a free battery and alternator testing. If the battery and alternator check out ok, then you have a short somewhere in the system that is slowly draining it down. Likely, your battery is weak.

Hey, is the battery BOLTED down securely?? Very important. The plates crack if its not bolted securely. That is one way to slowly kill a good battery.
Have you had it tested? If not, you are wasting time asking questions. I dont mean to be rude, but have it checked with the proper equipment. Check the alternator for output too. AutoZone has the equipment to test your battery for sufficient Cold Cranking Amps as rated on the battery. You must have a fully charged battery for this test. They will even charge it for you at no cost....
If it checks out, there are some other solutions.

holy cow!! i have an 85 Z that i am working on and it does the exact same thing!! i put a brand new battery in and in a couple weeks (not even driving it, but starting it like every day) its dead. i work on it and i start it every day but after a while it just takes a LOOONNNNGGGG time to get started. when i do start it i leave it running a while ie. get the temp to normal driving temp whomp on it a couple times to see how it responds and what not. its starting to **** me off really bad. i want to know whats wrong also.
