I found a nice puddle of trans fluid under my car today. Looking into it I found it had came from the bottom of the dipstick tube. (700R4). It looks like the rubber grommet is not seated correctly that goes into the trans. Does that tube just push into the trans?. Tried to push it down but its tight as hell and awkward to get a grip on it. Am I doing it wrong or shall I just do a fluid change anyway and sort it out from inside?. Thanks.

 

yeah I'd put the car up in the air and change the fluid and take a better look at it.

 

yea,it just pushes into the tranny,but if i remember correctly there is a stud on the back of the head on the pass. side that the tube is bolted onto to hold it in place.
