Question Anyone who knows TH-350 trannys inside please.

Im switching my R4 out for a TH-350 cause its just a toy now and I dont need overdrive.

Anyway, I bought an old TH-350 and a book on them. Im damned determined to build it myself tranny work is too expensive.

Anyway I looked up the casting markings on the outside of the tranny caseing in my book and it says that its a 350C with no lock-up..........but there is a plug on the driver side of the tranny that I cant think of anything else it would be for other than lock-up? ANy one else have any clue what that plug would be?

If it is lock-up when I build it could I just buy a TH-350 non-lockup rebuild kit, and non lock-up convertor? Or will that not work?

Possibly, I havent gone through the book really well yet. I was gonna wait until I had the TCi rebuild kit, and new tools I need from Snap-on delievered to me before I really immersed myself in it.

I thought maybe someone would know w quick answer to this, so I wouldnt have to search for it. Its been bothering me.

Some of the TH350's in the 1970's had a electrical pressure switch on the side of the transmission that controlled part of the ignition timing.

You will need to buy a TH-350 conversion for the cross member. You will also need to change the driveshaft. Im pretty sure thats all.
