Anybody installed a elec. exh. cutout

I'm looking at putting this one in between the bend in the Y-pipe and the Cat. I'm guessing that I shouldn't put it at bend, because it would make to much turbulance when it's closed, and oput it in the little short straight section befor the cat. Is this right?

Anybody had problem or sugestions with a electric cutout like this one. Going to get it with out the y-pipe and make my own.

Re: Anybody installed a elec. exh. cutout

sounds good to me. you def. cant put it at a bend b/c the cutout doesnt have a bend in it.

ive heard of people not liking the e-cutouts from almost every company that makes them, they break/not work, falls apart, etc. reason is prob. b/c the exhaust vibrates so much that the motor and stuff cant take it and it pretty much rattles apart, even worse w/ a decent size cam.

hope this helps, good luck on the install

I have the McCord Power Plate on mine. I put the cutout in place of the cat. Flanged the y-pipe and cat, so it is easy to put the cat back in if I wanted to.

I have the exact same cutout that dewey's got and it works great. I wouldn't really trust electric cutouts because they can either 1. Break and not open(not so bad) 2.Break and not CLOSE(Get home quickly and avoid the police at all costs!!). I personally like the manual one. I don't mind getting under the car and taking the 3 wingnuts off. Just my .02 though.
