Antenna Motor

The antenne motor on my 88 Camaro won't pull down the antenne anymore instead it just sits there and runs. So I pulled the accessory fuse and that stopped it but that also means I can't use my radio, PDLs or interior lights. Is there a place where I can just disconnect the motor. I have no problem just leaving the antenne up.

I'm just guessing but I think you could take out the inner fender and just cut both the black and the red wires, there might also be a blue. Tape them up or something to stop them from shorting out..

Plug.....

There is a plug under the dash passenger side ,you have to drop the pannel like you would itf you were tring to remove the computer. It is a flat plug with three wires,I cut the middle one and wired a switch so I can turn the antenna off in the up ,or down possion. You may be able to fix the antenna by taking it apart an there is what looks like weed- wacker line going to the bottom of the antenna that pushes it up,and pulls it down. This line useually breaks right at metal. It goes in a hole in the end and is crimped in place,I've repaired three of them this way. The hard part is removing the antenna from the car.
