another engine question

hello again...my question is, will a 1.6 rocker fit under the stock 87-up centerbolt head valve cover. I know you gotta but the special narrow body rockers, but will a 1.6 fit under there, or do I have to buy taller valve covers? TIA

The GM (Crane) will fit but on some valve covers you have to slightly bend the baffle in the valve cover with a pair of channel locks. I've experienced a good fit on my 350 and on my son's 350 I had to bend the baffle slightly. Can.t explain the difference but they do fit....

I don't think the height of the VC will make that much of a difference. You can grind the webbing away or get the crane gold RR in narrow body which will work very well. I did and am using the stock VC.

I used Harlan Sharp roller rockers under the Moroso centerbolt valve covers and they worked just fine. Those valve covers seem to have a little more room underneath then the stockers do.
