Air pump solenoid location

Anyone know the location of the air pump solenoid on a 92 RS Camaro? Looking to install heated O2 sensor.

Re: Air pump solenoid location

Both of the air pump solenoids are located in a large black box on the passenger side of the motor, right on top of the valve cover. You'll see 1 wire loom and about 5 large hoses coming out of it. Here's a couple of pictures I found for reference:

In this one, it's in the bottom right hand corner of the picture:

And in this one, there's a front view of it right above the valve cover and behind that strut tower brace:

Then you just need to pry that front cover off, and you'll see 2 solenoids, the air select valve and the air diverter valve.

Why do you need to know the location of the AIR pump solenoids if your installing a heated O2 sensor? Trying to find an existing 12V source? Just curious.

Re: Air pump solenoid location

Usually (just depends on what your hooking up), the easiest place is the fuse box. There should be 2 slots on the right of the fuse box labeled "12V IGN" that you can use. That's what I use for my 12V ignition source. I know it's more wire to run, but it may be harder to find a 12V source in the engine compartment.

Might want to check the voltage on the the air pump solenoid connectors before you use one of them for your heated O2 sensor. I wouldn't be too surprised if those turn out to be 5 volt sources.
