Age Old Question: Which Headers?

Age Old Question: Which Headers?
I've a 92 Z with the L98, weeeeell, Christmas is coming up and my parents are willing to spend 2K on me (brother and ex are getting cars so they want to make it fair) Well, I'm wanting something that will be big bang, emission legal is only a hindrance so I'm looking for the "nonhighway use". Any suggestions on brand and style? My exhaust is all stock. Nothing more than $700 if it can be helped....I have cosmetics that need to be fixed too. lol

Re: Age Old Question: Which Headers?
Sticky Tires (M/T drag radials) $400
2800 stall torque converter $500
100 shot Nitrous Express Kit $500-800
That should put you in the 12's.
Or you can do headers and go from 14.40's to 14.20's..

That's a sick looking set up!
I couldn't do Nitrous, I still have stock internals but the TC I've been learning more about. Are there anythings I need to have in order to have a TC and it work to its highest potential?

Re: Age Old Question: Which Headers?
Yeah.... you need sticky tires otherwise why would you want to get into the powerband faster? If you think you can spin the tires hard now... you are in for a suprise when you install a good torque converter.
Stock internals have held GIANT amounts of nitrous(300+). My 305 was hit with a 150 shot in an attempt to break it. It never did break with the 40+ bottles I put through it.. It ran 12.80's though and destroyed stock LS1 cars.. Do not be scared of a 100 shot on your 350.
Sorry for diverting from the topic..
SLP headers were the best ive ever used. If you can find a used set, jump on them!

Re: Age Old Question: Which Headers?
Is there a set limit that the factory internals are rated for? I mean, just so I know when to trade up.
I appreciate the help, this is my first builder so I'm wanting to expand my knowledge on this as much as I can.

Re: Age Old Question: Which Headers?
Dyno Don headers are actually based on SLP's design. But modified slightly to clear the steering shaft easier. (Many people had to either dent their SLP header or else grind off part of the steering shaft to get SLP's to fit)
Don's Y-pipe has a nice merge in the 2 into 1 area. Much nicer than Hooker's 2055 Y-pipe. Spark plug access on Dyno Don's is about as good if not better than everybody else.
SLP headers have been discontinued for a few years now.
