Aftermarket Carbs

So as I am dabbling with changing my intake and other crap to comply with emissions, I'm wondering who out there is using aftermarket carbs and intakes? What parts are you going with and why? Is there anyone here who feel sthat the stock parts are THE way to go for performance, or is it reliability?

I'd love to hear your opinions.

Re: Aftermarket Carbs

By looking at your sig,you already have an Edelbrock aftermarket intake which is what alot of people run on stock on up to heavily modified engines. What type on intake is on your car now? Being a 305 4bbl,It shouldnt need more than a Edelbrock Performer (RPM range 1500-5500) which is great for a mostly stock street car. But you do have to watch out b/c there are intakes that dont have provisions for EGR which wont comply with emissions.

Just remember, when modding your engine all the parts need to work together to make power. That meaning the intake, camshaft are in the same RPM range, the heads flow good in the area that the camshaft makes power in.

I think stock sucks, hence the reason I put a big block in my 79 Z28...im done playin around.
