After sitting for 5 years, heres the problems

After sitting for about five years my Camaro is acting up. Heres what its doing. Doesnt like to start cold or hot. Wont start up again after it has warmed up. I know of at least three dead fuel injectors maybe four. Theres a lag in the throttle response, but Im guessing thats cause of the dead injectors. It also wont go beyond 2500RPMs either and wants to die. Im guessing/hoping that all of these problems are related to the injectors being shot. I have changed the fuel filter and checked the fuel pressure and its around 48-50psi. At least twice a year when it sat, I ran all of the old fuel out and put fresh fuel in with the sta-bil fuel treatment.
I ran the computer for error codes and got none, and I checked all of the fuses, and there good. Im hoping its the injectors as there the original ones from 1989, and I have a new set of Accel ones on the way.

Any thoughts or ideas on this?
Thanks.

Sounds like bad injectors.

But I could be wrong.

Some of the older computers don't pick up oxygen sensor probems too well. Check there.

Your the second person that has said that. Can O2 sensors go bad from sitting? It was a new O2 sensor when I stored it. The computer in it is from a 89 IROCZ, if that makes a difference.

Thanks.

I am not an expert, but I know that O2 sensors work by generating a small electrical field, rust would probably screw that up - that is if the metal alloy they are made of even rusts. Simply unscrewing them and looking at them would probably tell you lots. I would fix the injectors first though, since you know they are bad.

The cheap O2 senser on my van went after a year of service - I also noticed large amounts of rust had deposited in the sensor cone. The computer never gave me a light even thought the sensor sometimes stayed frozen at a constant value. The van is a 1990.

definitly start there. Theres no point in trying to diagnose problems when you know for a fact things are broken. Fix the broken stuff then trouble shoot from there.

Has nothing to do with the 02 sensor. The computer doesn't even read the 02 until a little over 100* Why do you suspect bad injectors? If they truly are bad they are no doubt the cause of all the syptoms you listed.
