do I want 6 point or 12 point head bolts to go with my AFR heads?..Ive read something about certain type bolts not giving enough clearance with certain type rockers? Im using comp pro magnums if that helps.

I think you'll be happier with the 12 point.

Re: AFR head and ARP head bolts?

If they are the SMALLER 6-point heads (take 1/2" socket) you will be fine. There are several head bolts you just can't get a full sized 5/8" socket on (like stock head bolts take) without removing a valve spring.

ARP bolts also come with the anti-galling washers, so you need to use them with aluminum heads. The side with the beveled edge on the inside goes UP towards the head of the bolt.

You can get to them with a 5/8" socket...just got to grind it down a bit. Mine works very well.

I checked and yeah, I can get a 1/2 socket on them...they got the small head...smaller than the ARP head studs I had... thanks!

That's what I did: I bought a deepwell socket, then tapered it with the bench grinder. It works like a charm.

who did you order them from?

most of the time they are back ordered up to 6months. I got mine via AMP Performance which is a mustang place but they also sell AFR heads. Got them for a great deal & they had some in stock.
ampperformance (their Ebay name)
