i heard you're not supposed to adjust the TPS voltage on a SD ecm. is this correct? if it isnt, what's the correct voltage to set it at? i know i need to use a DVM, but how should i check the voltage at WOT and what should it be at as well? thanks guys

 

I believe it should be aroun 0.54V

 

MAF is .54 volts @ idle, 4.50volts @ WOT
SD is .70 volts @ idle, 4.50volts @ WOT

 

My '92 isn't adjustable. The older models had slotted a TPS but the '92 don't.

 

The '92 (and '91 I believe) will self adjust. They take the lowest reading they see and make it "idle" and go from there.

 

91 and 92 are both SD... would it be safe to say my TPS will self adjust since it's SD ('90) and that i wouldn't have to do anything to it?

 

I would assume so. I knew the 91 and 92 are definately SD but I thought there were a few 90s roaming around that were MAF. I would bet that it would take the lowest value and assume that is the 0 deg throttle angle.

 

I always set my Idle (air bleed) first, then if I have to, use a small dril to lengthen the TPS mounting holes. Usually only modifying one hole is enough, and adjusting one hole(side) will enable you to get good readings.
I don't think they "self-adjust", they're just a variable resistor will a 5 volt reference voltage applied.

 

They do self adjust from the standpoint that they take the initial voltage when you turn the key on to be idle.
