If I remember correctly, the trans just swaps over with no modding...however the internals of the V6 are not as strong as the ones in the V8 trannys, therefore, they will not hold up to the abuse of the 350 as well.
Someone wanna back me up on this?
Re: adapter plate
The v6 trans has a different sized shaft doesn't it? Same size tip that fits in the pilot bushing but different size/spline on the actual shaft itself?
That and the bellhousing is completely different.

Oh because I remember when I did my shift kit install, in the video, they said that "if you come across a number "3" on this valve, STOP! This means that this transmission is from a V6 engine and this shift kit is not suitable for that transmission", meaning that they were interchangeable, say if the previous owner blew the tranny and got one from a V6 donor...or so I thought.
Re: adapter plate
If you have a T5 from a V6, you can use that tranny but you will need a V8 bellhousing, V8 flywheel, V8 pressure plate, and a V6 clutch disc.
I am not sure if anyone ever made an adator plate since there really is no need since tranny's for V6 and V8's are not too hard to come by.
