From the looks of it,I would do the Accel ignition. Has a rev limiter that doesnt use the stupid pills like MSD does,I like that and the fact that its about half the size of an MSD box.

And this is coming from a guy having MSD 6AL on his car.

None of the above. At this point in time, you're foolish not to go with a digital controller. The MSD 8226 coil is good, i have one. Taylor wires.

Definitely go with the digital, either the Accel or MSD is fine. Keep in mind however, I've done testing on my car and on an 89 GTA with an MSD 6A box and then both only showed a gain of 2 HP. Its hardly worth it unless you're runing nitrous or blower and need the extra spark.

I have an accel, never owned an msd, but i love the accel, not only is it half the size and look 10 times better as already stated, but the fact that its digital was another big factor in decideing

Re: Accel or MSD ignition??????

I try to get one big item (mod) for my car every other month. I kinda figured this part was pretty necessary for a complete car. My list for now is: 1) ignition 2) airaid TB spacer 3) aluminum radiator 4) Wilwood brakes 5) Dynomax super converter 6) steering wheel #GRT-1461 from Summit

I'm going to get the Accel. It won by a whopping 3 votes, including mine.

Re: Accel or MSD ignition??????

I will suggest a Crane box for ignition performance and reliability. MSD for reliability and tech support. Accel for coulda been something but got lost in the corporate monster that is MrGasket who also owns Mallory now. Many, many, many Accel 300+ boxes were returned defective when is was a new product 10 years ago. I'm sure its much better now.

btw you can hear the capacitors discharge in the Accel box. Consider that when you mount it.
