about to install 1.6 roller rockers, what next?
I have a stock 350 TPI (as far as I know it's stock), with K&N filters, Edelbrock headers, and a flowmaster. I'm installing 1.6 roller rockers, and new springs the beginning of next week, and I am wondering what the next logical performance upgrade would be? I was thinking of getting a cam, but the guy I talked to said it wouldn't be worth the labor time to go that far in the engine to just install a cam. So, the cam will come later maybe when I get some porting done or something.
So, aside from a cam, what would the next logical performance upgrade be? I was thinking of some lower end gears? I'm not sure what I have now, my tranny is a 700R4, and cruzing at 70 MPH, my RPMs are 2300.
any Idea on what gears I have? Would lower end gears be a good upgrade next? if so, what size should I go?
I'm not expecting much gain from just the 1.6 roller rockers, so I think I'm going to want lots more
I want low end power, because to me, that is more fun than top end power, and I never drive any faster than 75.
Thanks yall!

it really depends on what else has been done to the motor? i would have went with a good breathing system like a unrestricted air setup and a good exhaust before ever touching the motor and work from there.
once that was good and your parts are working well i'd work on getting the nice torque to the ground first. then if you still wanted more depending on your budget and use for the car i'd consider things like a low boost super charger or a small amount of nitrous.
if you had a good size amount of money to blow then i'd look towards doing a head, cam, intake setup. you really should base all of those including the rockers around the same platform. you'll see a better performance gain and save you a little bit of money down the road. choosing the wrong item you could seriously hinder your performance more then help it.
in the end it's all preference though. good luck with it!

Suspension work. They will make all that low end torque you want get to the ground. As if the stock 350 TPI set-up didnt have alot already. But even though you wont really gain power from the suspension mods you will feel signifigant gains because your power will make it to the ground.
Wait for the cam. It won't do you much good with stock heads and induction anyway.
Exhaust, intake, suspension.....these are what will get you moving off the line like a raped ape. Subframe connectors are a must, stiffer LCA's and a PHR will firm up the rear, and a torque arm will make an insane difference in traction.
