Look for a 350 car if you are interested in fast. A 305 in most cases and fast can not be used in the same sentence.

Re: 91 rs

I would go ahead and get a L98 350 car. It will have the good suspension, engine, wider wheels/tires and overall performance that would cost $4K to turn an RS into. But that will have to be an automatic trans. If you must shift you can go with a 305TPI 5-speed (rare but fast) and if your a good driver keep up with 350's and Mustangs all day. But in short, if you want a car that is going to be competitive with todays cars your going to have to get the TPI 305 or 350. Even the 305 auto is 0-60 in 7.0 and 15.3 1/4 (except in '86 their slower by a full sec.). The RS is probably 9.0 0-60 and 16.5 in the 1/4. Also most TPI cars don't cost much more than RS's. Atleast where I live. Now if the RS is a convertable I would highly suggest you get it. All convert's are getting hard to find. Take 'em anyway you can get 'em. You'll look cool even without the big horsepower.
