89 camaro gears

i have an 89 camaro that had a 2.8 v6 in it and i was wondering what gears are in the rear end ?
also im getting a late 80's early 90's 350 engine what kind of hp will it have stock ?
and finally im putting all that together with an 700r4 trans what do you guys think my over all performence would be
all i have left to put in is the engine
i will have headers on it and it's gonna be carberated

since you had a 2.8, it probably has 3.23 or 3.42 gears, your RPO codes will say what it came with stock, they are inside the center console on the passenger side of the compartment

10-bolt with non-limited slip 3:42.

yeah i just checked my codes and the rear axle is 3.42 so is that good or is it gonna cause me problems with a 350 hooked to a 700r4 trans to the axle........ whats the pro's and con's?

3:42 gears is one of the better ratios for a 350, your only problem will be that its a open rear (no limited slip). And if you try to find one your other problems is you may have 26 spline axle shafts.

okay why would a 26spline be a problem whats the difference between any of them? and how can i change it .. thanx's
