Heres a list of problems my 1988 camaro Iroc-z(5-speed) has.
-The motor lags majour power before 1500 rpm,
-The car tunrs off after taking out of gear after a long drive(freeway)
-NO POWER AT ALL when making a right turn(push pedal,nothign happens)
-Small but noticeable ticking noise coming from back of motor

OK (making an assumption that this is a TPI car), first question - have you checked for any codes that the car may have set? Getting a code can save you a good bit of time otherwise spent scratching your head...

The other question that comes to mind right away is 'How old are the "tune-up-type" things like fuel filter, plugs/wires, O2 sensor, etc?' Those can have a major impact on how your car runs...

 

hmmmm... How do I Get the codes?My service engine light comes on but only sometimes. I know my fuel filter is new and my plugs and wires might not be to good, dont know bout o2 sensor.

 

if you go to a parts store some of them sell a code reader there not to expensive there worth the money, is there any black smoke coming out your exhaust when you are giving it gas i had o2 sensor go and the car ran rough and puffed black smoke,or like the other person said plugs and wires good luck hope you solve your problem

No black smoke. I think im gonan try the code stuff see what I can get out of that, thanks fer the help.
