88 Iroc dies at stop

I have 1988 camaro iroc .When i first turn it on it drives good for about an hour or so then it starts to turn of at every stop. I have noticed that it is also starting to backfire a bit , it does however turn back on but it will turn off at every stop, very frustrating.I have changed the plugs, the fuel regulator, and fuel filter.I was wondering if anyone here has had this problem or something similar.Could it be a timing issue?

sorry it took so long, theres also whats called a balance test they do on the tpi engines. you should be able too check them with a volt meter too see what voltage there at all injectors have a voltage range for good an bad. i would check all vaccum hose also, oh check the brake booster valve too.

Also might want to reset the IAC for minimum air (idle) as well as resetting the TPS to the correct voltage. These two things often go overlooked and can mean the difference between an engine that stays running and one that does not. If you visit thirdgen.org, there is a step by step on how to do this in the tech articles section
