87 z28

Ok, my story first is I had a grandpa that passed away a couple a years ago that had a 69 RS/SS and I absolutley loved that damn car (had to sell to help the grandma out). But that car was his pride and joy and I saw everytime I was around him how proud he was cause he built it. So I know it's far from what his will ever be but I now have an 87 z28, 305 TPI, and I want to know pretty much everything I can to build this up. I know somewhat about cars but not to much and its always something Ive wanted to get into learning on my own but to afraid to destroy anything that has to be a daily driver but I really wanna build this up. I have a buddy that automatically said heads and cam or just get a 350 swap but Im looking for pretty much all the info I can get. Ex: What particular upgrades or swaps that would exactly fit, where I can get them at for sure, how much, pretty much like I said, any and every bit of info I can get, and I would greatly appreciate it!!!!!!

I would not mod a 305. Is it a 5 speed TPI? I'd just put in a crate motor. ZZ4 is a good deal. I opted to go crate last year.

It's a 350 crate engine from GM.

Here is the turnkey ready-to-install version for $4,895
http://www.sdparts.com/product/12499...urnKeyKit.aspx

If you want to pick your own parts you can get this $4,050 version
http://www.sdparts.com/product/24502...ateEngine.aspx

Overall not a bad choice to put under your hood. It's 355hp.
