'87 Tranny Q need help

Does anyone know what tranny (manual) came in the '87 V6 camaros. And would it mount up to an LT1 motor?

TIA

I believe it's a Borg/Warner T5(?) and NO it won't bolt to any V8's b/c V8's have 90*degrees between heads and V6's were 60 degrees...the belhousing won't mate...sorry.

I'm pretty darn sure all manuals whether it was V6 or V8 in 87 were the T5's. As far as bolting up to an LT1 it Should all be plug and play. Again, I'm fairly sure the T56 is the next step up T5 and it all bolts as an assembly.

I Think I'm right but don't quote me. All I know is that the ZF 6's need a custom bellhousing to bolt up while the T56 uses a standard T5 bellhousing

if you find a v8 5 speed it will

its because of the 60* as said

the guts are the same, the case bellhousing are different
