87 tpi Distributor help

My friend with a 87 305 tpi was doing some maintenance on his car. He decided to replace the module in the distributor and broke the piece that attaches to the module. Does he have to buy another distributor or can he buy a replacement piece?

Thanks

there are 3 plugs that plug into the igmod. one is inside the diz and the other 2 are at the back of the diz.

the only things i think he coulda broke are the holding tangs that hold the plugs onto the diz. if thats the case the he should be ok as there is enough clamping force to keep the plug in place.

thats what im getting from this at the moment.

Real common if so. Mine has been broke off for years. I just check it now and then. The small one inside is for the pickup coil, have to pull dist. to replace that part.

No, he doesn't. He can just buy the ignition module separately (there's one on sale here in the part classifieds) and install it into the distributor. He shouldn't have to pay more than $30 for the module.

Hope this helps.
