87 l98 and 92 l98

I am wondering wat would be faster. I know the 92 has a little more power but i am not sure about the weight differences. would this just be a drivers race or is there a difference? Also were t-tops available with a 350 in 87?

Apparently no 350 cars left the assembly line with t tops, but supposedly dealers could get them converted. I've never seen pictures of a 350 T top car. Same goes for the 350 and convertible debate. None left the assembly line, but supposedly some conversions have been done.

Do NOT use ebay as your frame of reference. So many people try to pass off LB9s as L98/B2Ls it isn't funny. Unless you see the block casting # in person you cannot tell if it is a "real" L98. Like I said, a 350/t top car is theoretically possible.

I would go with the 92 car. No T-Top cars available with the L98 in 1987. I believe they came available sometime in late 1988. I know for sure you could get a L98 and T-Tops in 1989 as I bought one and still have it. I believe they were also available in 1990.

Well the '87 L98 produces peak torque at 2800 vs. other years 3200. I think 87 used different cam than every other year.

yes the 350 came in a t-top car till 91. you can't find a 91-92 with a 350. click on my cardomaim and look at the blue stunt car. I was and 89 with the 350, and t-top. Vin matches.

I just noticed the L98 350 issue about t-tops. My car had an L98 fron the factory and I have factory T-tops. T-tops were only available on L98 in '87, '88 and '89. Also 5-speed tpi 305 1990-92 cars could not have T-tops.

you could get an iroc with t-tops, they had issues with the body and later decided not to go that route with the 350's in the 91-92 camaro only cars. the pontiac versions had them all through the thirdgen years.

as for faster. the 92. especially if it had the smog and a/c delete but even stock for stock the 92 was and is faster comparing equally.

You can get t-tops. in 90-92 but not in G92 and TPI 5-speed cars. All L98 cars had G92 just for clarification of my earlier post. Thats neat to know about the T/A's having them all years.
Also, for some reason the fastest stock IROC recorded 0-60 was the '90 L98. It was 5.8 to 60 from a stop and did the 1/4 in 14.4. It's shown here http://www.albeedigital.com/supercou...0-60times.html I used to have the magazine back in 1990 but cant remember which one it was.

My '92 L98 ran a 5.4 0-60 and a 1/4 at 14.2 when it was totally stock with 108K miles on it.
