is it a good project car
I am just wondering if an 85 camaro (1700) worth buying as a project car. I am also looking at a 95 with a v6 little damage on the nose, t tops but the interior is trashed for 3,000. The 85 has a 305.

if the 1st camaro needs all tht work, I wouldnt pay 1700 for it. Theres nothing good about the car. The motor needs work, body needs work, and the interior needs work. My trans am was like that, but I was young and had some money saved up, ended up buying it, and it was a money pit. Just be careful.

for that much wrong. 1700 is a bit high. if the trans needs rebuilding, and you are swapping engines and such you are going to basically double the cost of the car easy. I always look at it like this. If you buy a car that is 1700, and it needs 1500 in work, then why not buy the $3200 car that does not need any work right away.

Why not just buy a running car in good condition that already has a V8?

$5000 for a '97 Z28, good to go.
For a bit more, you could even get a '98+ with the more powerful LS1 engine.
You'd spend quite a bit of money fixing those other cars up, and they'd probably never be as nice as the one I linked above.

I dunno about that nice part, but it will be newer.
I have bought a few 3rd gens that were very good on the exterior and interior. ran just fine when I bought them. so if you look you can. Personally I like the looks of the third gens alot more than the 4th gens. It seems the higher the gen number the less appealing to the eye it is for me. Although the third gens are still the est when it comes to the Coefficient of drag numbers. which is nice. (Even if it is a little, every little bit helps).
However do not get a thirdgen if you do not have money to sink into it. Mostly because they are at best more than 15 years old. So they will need the maintenance things much sooner than say a 4th gen. Guess it really depends on what you want it for.
