85 camaro performance?

I am looking at a 1985 camaro f41 305 ho.... about how power are these putting down? What 1/4 mile times can u expect outta these cars? Also how hard is it to swap a bigger block in there... ex. 350 or 355 or maybe something bigger

thanks,
chris

Look for a 350 car and you will save money in the long run.

DJP's right, but puttin in a bigger motor isnt much of a problem if you dont get into somethin complicated (i.e. LT1/LS1/etc.) expect high 15 to low 16 passes w/ a stock LO3. good luck!

LO3 is a 305 TBI, that 85 Should be an L69 if its an HO. Quarter times arent gonna be that impressive. Low 16's with 190 horses. Swap in a 350 block with that carb, better hanger, metering rods for the carb, and some tuning, should see a dramatic increase. Also you could invest in a better intake manifold , headers, all this stuff can be switched over to the 350 when the times comes. Good luck man. I had planned on this myself, but since my car got totalled, im looking at getting an L98 car......

85 power

On my 305 85 camaro with the 3.08 gears I could burn rubber through 2 second gear (auto) when staging.
They have some torque.
