No 350 came with a manual five speed in 87. All 350s came with the 700-R4. They couldn't warranty the five speed to the L98's torque output, so they couldn't use it. 87, 88, and 89 are the only years of the third gen where you could get a 350 and T-Tops. And none of them had a stock five speed. All were 700-R4. Barring test cars and the occasional factory freak that never made it to the public.

I have an 87 Iroc with T-tops and the Tree Fiddy. I love my car. Even though my rearend is dying.

Its pretty well known on thirdgen.org that the info on iroc-z.com about the L98 coming with a 5 speed is absolutely WRONG.I have no idea were they even came up with that.

For 87 iroc 5-spds you wont find any 350's.... you most likely be stuck with an lg4 even then all 5-spd trannies in the 3rd gens wont hold power for ****. if your looking for somehtin for the track... your better off with the 700r4 unless you put in a 6 spd

Yep, I just love throwin gears. I got a fresh T-56 i'm gunna put in it. I'm hoping to get over 500 rwhp. I think the t-56's are good for it as long as i don't continually abuse it. I haven't quite decided if i'm going stroker or try to supercharge it, i'm still working numbers for $$$ though. I'm still workin on a game plan though. First step is to find the right car....seems like a minor problem.
