Question 77k 305... what would you do?

I just bought a 92 305 RS from a lady, bone stock except for a magnaflow exhaust and barbie pink rims (terrible disgrace to a torch red car). it has just over 77k on the clock and other than some electrical gremlins, typical dash and weather stripping issues it's in great shape. I'm a newborn to the Camaro world but I doubt there are a lot of 3rd gens with under 100k on them out there. I'd like to suck a little more power out of it but I'd really like to stay MOSTLY stock. Anyone know some tricks to push a little more juice out of it? Knowing my honda is faster makes me sick.

All the normal smallblock stuff. Make sure it's tuned and running properly. An open element or freer breathing aircleaner will help. Next would be a better flowing exhaust. The stock one on your L03 is fairly restrictive.

MAN my first car was a 91z28 305TPI. Had 212k on it and it was all stock and still ran like a champ. I will never 4get that car. Have fun with her!

Right now I'm focused on getting the tach to work, it's one of the resistors on the IC chip in the cluster the new one I picked up is bad too, so I see soldering in my future. Know anything about ignition components? I've seen some MSD stuff that just bolts on I think the kit includes a coil, Think a hotter spark will help much?

Go to ThirdGen.org. You'll find all kinds of info there.

^^What he said. There is an article on there about fixing the tach...my '91 works, but its about 600 RPM too fast at 2500 RPM.

Charlie, you're getting a PM
