I have pulled the trans from my car. I have an instruction video from Technical Video and have reviewed it. I have also visited various websites; KDS, Makco and others. I am planning on the HD/Performance rebuild kit with Red Eagle steel parts and a better than Corvette servo along with a Trans Go shift kit. The trans has been rebuilt in the last two years but I believe I cooked it awhile back causing the 'only works in 1st and reverse' problem now.

This will be a daily driver with a streetable engine. I want it to last and shift very firm.

My questions are:

1. Is there any other information I need than the video to complete this project?

2. Are there any other manufacturers I should look at for rebuild and shift kits? (I am looking at about $250 to $350 with the parts listed)


Any comments or helpful hints would be greatly appreciated

rebuilding a trans isnt done with basic hand tools, it requires a few special tools to pull the pump, replace seals, etc. i wouldnt recommend doing this for the first time unless you know someone who is very experienced to give you a hand. there are ALOT of places to screw up in an auto trans.
