52mm TPI throttle body
52mm TPI throttle body
i was wondering if anyone has dealt with or experienced any gains from a 52mm throttle body, the reason bieng is my top tps sensor hole is stripped out and the tps is way out of adjustment, so i found this cheaper summit brand throttle body and it beats diggin around the junk yard, or buying that 300$ bbk one, i know im not gonna get much out of it on a mainly stock motor( except for ram air, headers, exhaust) but i figured id get everyones opinion,, if its broke, upgrade i say
on a stock motor you won't see much if any but it shouldn't hurt especially if you are looking to future upgrades.
however, if you check the classifieds at thirdgen.org you may be able to find a stock one fairly cheap and they are plenty till you make serious upgrades.

If the other one is damaged, then I guess it wouldn't hurt, but as you already know, you won't see any tremendous gains with it. I agree with the above poster, I don't think you will have a hard time hunting down another stocker.
ebay! Should find you one there. I think ported stockers can be had for under $200.
I put one on my 86, with an entire upgrade to the primary and secondary ignition. Times went from 15.7s to 15.3s. I can't say what the final outcome was due to the tranny trying to hold 2nd in the traps. The rest of the combo is: SLP siamiesed runners, ported plenum, adj. FPR, along with shorty headers and Y pipe (stock 2.73s to boot). I'd say you will see some improvement stock, but if you help that mother breath better you will see some real improvements.
