4th gen steering wheel

4th gen steering wheel

i have an 88 iroc-z and i want to put a 4th gen steering wheel in it, is this going to be simple? or is there any problems i may run into or anything that i need to buy to make it work?

i would thing it will go right on but it will have an air bag but you can leave it dosconnected but for any chance that it gets power (chaffed wire ,static)you will get it in your face i would just go with an aftermarket one

the wheel itself has been known to bolt up with ease....however, the airbag is a different story.

ask over at thirdgen.org as there are more people who have tried it.

I have one on my car. I bought a wheel that had a blown airbag and the cover stitched back together.

I'd go aftermarket. Factory steering wheels are designed for use on boats. A Smaller diameter Grant GT or somthing will help the handling of your car.

1" difference in diameter is 3" in circumference. Think about what that does to the effective gear ratio of the steering box.
