4-link in a 3rd gen?

hi, im currently working on a street car build up. Its an 89 RS with t-tops. i have a pretty good feeling that with my engine/tranny combo i am going to have some pretty serious traction problems. Ive thought about doing the aftermarket lca\torque arm\springs\shocks\lca relocation bracket thing... but what i would really like to do is weld in a 4-link. the car isnt going to be tubed but it does have subframe connectors and a 4-point roll bar. im just curious if any of you guys have used on 4 link on your street cars, and if so how well the installation went. also, will a 4-link ruin any hopes of me being able to successfully race the car on a course, or will it help it? thank you for your knowledge

The factory-designed three link suspension is a great comprimise between drag and roadcourse. It can be made to handle great (assuming there are no bumps in the road) and Ive seen cars with upgraded factory style suspensions pull the front wheels off the ground at the strip. The trouble youd have to go through for a 4link wouldnt be worth it, relocators, LCAs, panhard rod, torque arm, drag shocks and slicks would net some very low 60 fts. You have to remember though that everything is a comprimise, a great drag car is a direct trade off for a great road car... Most of the time, you cant have both.
