4.7K resistor IAT mod, a question
4.7K resistor IAT mod, a question
Hey guys, while i know the mod is questionable, i was curious if it worked the same way on a L98 or LB9 engine as it does on a LT1 or LS1 engine. Weather the engine be MAF or speed density, would it make a difference? Thanks

On a MAF L98 car, all it will do is change the operation of the EGR a little. Nothing else. It's practically a dummy sensor.
On a SD car, it can richen the mixture (REALLY not needed on a stock engine - it's already super rich at full throttle). With a LOT of mods, it's about as effective as an AFPR. I highly recommend not doing the mod.
It's honestly a very bad mod on L98 cars. Just get into DIY prom tuning and you'll understand why, and have a better running engine. It's really affordable nowadays, too. Look at www.moates.net for an Ostrich, or Autoprom, or get a pocket programmer, or flash'n burn or the likes. TunerPro RT software is also available (free to use, but pay the guy the recommended fee (for the RT version), so that he keeps up the good work). Check out www.thirdgen.org - the DIY PROM board is an invaluable resource.

what he siad /\ /\ /\ /\
burning chips is the way to go,
I kept up to a 99+ GT stang the other day with my 305 5 speed vert, all I got is exhaust, no cat, K&N, all the free or close to free mods, and a chip burner, got about 10 hours into the tune on my car, its way faster and better on fuel,
I tuned a 350 MAF car the other day, started out with the arap bin, cleaned up the fuel, lowered running temp and maxed the timing, **** did that thing move
