ive got some help already on this little project i just need to know if i forgot anything. what im doing is taking out my 305tpi w/ my 700r4 and swapping in a 350 carbed motor that ran 11s in my friends camaro. i am thinking about using a 350 or a 400 for a trans. i was told that i could use the harness i have i would just have to cut the distributor wires and get different plugs. then put hide the rest of the harness. i want to run an electric fuel system but i would have to take out the stock intank one correct?

if anyone can help me or give me any tips i would appreciate it, thanks

use a Mallory 4 port fuel pressure regulator.

2 ports for the inlet/return line,1 port for a fuel pressure guage (if you want) and plug the unused ports.

this way you dont need to take the intank pump out.

Do you plan on keeping this car street driven? If so, why not keep the 700R4 and throw a rebuild on it? Can't beat that 3.06:1 first gear, and overdrive is always nice to have.

Also, since you are going to a carbed car, you can get rid of the computer completely and switch to a large-cap HEI distributor. The stock fuel pump can be wired to run with key-on pretty easily.

well the motor i have has 11.5 to 1 compression. thats kind of to much for the street. i would like to make it street able but i dont think its possible. im finishing up my suspension and im trying to find a trans. ive seen a couple built up th350 and 700r4 for sale so i dont know which one im going with. im going to be running either 373 or 410. just still thinking about which to go with.

You usually need to put new fittings on the engine side of the factory fuel lines. The rubber portions anyways. I think they're metric on both ends and I went to standard on the engine side up to the Mallory regulator listed above. You'll need a fuel pressure guage to go with all of the new plumbing also.

Like said you can get the fuel pump to work with the ignition switch easily. Even with the ECM out, all of your guages should work just fine if the new engine has the same sensors. A New Water temp and oil pressure sensor is nice to install before dropping the engine in.

Goodluck! A Drop base for your air filter helps also.

11.5:1 is 92-94 octane pump gas territory unless you have a stock camshaft or something.

I've used the mallory bypass regulator mentioned above and its great. Get some tube nuts and you can use the factory feed and return lines.

11.5:1 is not bad for a street motor, as long as the cam isn't too radical. Do you know if it runs on pump gas? Do you know the cam specs?

the vavle lift is .505 and the duration is 292 deg.
