2400 stall?

I've got an extra slp 2400 stall laying around.
Would it be appropriate for an 87 Iroc LB9?
It's rarely driven. Just a fair weather extra car for weekend use. No plans of racing it or major mods. I already have another money pit.
Do you think it's too much for the little LB9? Seems like it would be perfect to me.

Yeah it would help it out a lot. I am getting one with the same stall speed. It may not be 2400 stall though as it will change depending on how much HP you are making and mods and such. Look for around 2200-2400 stall. It will help the TPI get into its torque band a lot quicker too. Instead of waiting for it to kick in at around 1500RPM it will be in theband as soon as you stall it up.

Yeah That's what I was thinking. It seems perfect for the lb9. But I don't see too many guys running a higher stall, in the 3rd gens.

Well a lot of them are probably. I need one bad. You can see where my car wakes up. If I got a decent converter and some half way decent tires I could knock my ET's down a few tenths.

When I was breaking 700R-4's on a weekly basis (don't ask). My transmission guy advised me that the 350 TPI cars (and Vettes) had a 2200-2400 stall from the factory (while my TBI didn't). I ordered a TPI converter and it did lessen the tendency for the car to "creep" through traffic lights (idle up hills, etc), just like a higher stall will do (and it was quicker), so I believe this to be correct information. It may be useful to you guys. I'd put it in there, I was happy with the results on my car.

My friend with a L98 has a stall around 1400(like me). Another guy has the same thing. What year was yours? I want a cheap converter. Damn TPI needs to get out of the hole better because by mid track I am having trouble keeping cars away from my bumper, lol. Guess its time for a Stealth Ram.

Hey guys, i just pulled my 2200 rpm stall convertor out of my car. It was great with the tpi, but i needed more with the stealth ram, so i went to a 2800. The 2200 works great (i'd guarantee), retains lockup function, and only has about 10,000 k on it.

I paid $400. I'd let it go for $250.
