236/242 too big for SD?

Is this cam too big in a 350 to work with the stock Speed Density, with a chip of course? Or will it not provide enough of a vacum signal for the MAP to work correctly? I will have the LT1 intake and 200 Brodix heads with 1 3/4 lt headers, all backed by a 6sp. The cam is from comp and it is XE 236/242 hydro roller on a 112LSA.

Thanks for the help,
Jeremy

By chip what do you mean. If you program it yourself, yeah, I think it could be done but it will take you quite a few tries to get it to run well. If you just order a aftermarket chip it wont do you much good. The computer can be programmed for pretty much whatever cam is in it but it usually has to be done with the cam in the car and using a scanning software to get the chip near accurate. You might want to look into a vacuum pump for the breaks also.

Exactly. The 730 ECM will be able to handle it just fine. You will have some odd VE tables with respect to a stock calibration but it can be done.

Don't bother with the off the shelf PROMs on an application like that... Or even the over the phone/net 'custom' PROM tuners. Pick up the equipment to do it yourself and don't look back .

That vacuum reservoir isn't a bad idea with that kind of cam either.
