Why are you replacing the axle shafts on a RS????

If you have that much HP/TQ I would be concerned about the whole 10-Bolt rear end. And your RS should have the 28 spline axle shafts already & just the shafts will not be that much help for the cost. My opinion.

I have mine worn out. Next time there is a problem, I will be changing to a 9in Ford. My end caps are not seating just right and the bearing on the left side of the posi is not snug. We had to dimple the posi and use adhesive because we were trying to get it out then. If it breaks again which I am sure it will, I will have a custom 9 in unit by Moser.

Sounds like a sweet engine. Id love to build a 377, would you disclose your mod list for inquiring minds?

377?? Isn't that a 383 without the boring, ie a stroked 350?

A 377 is a stock bore 350 with a 3.75" stroke crank.

I personally wouldn't run a 10-bolt behind an engine with 500lbft, I'd go with a 12-bolt or 9 inch....but if thats out of your price range then even a BW 9-bolt would be better than the 10-bolt rear. With that kind of torque you can expect to grenade the diff pretty quickly. Especially if you're running a manual tranny.

I was under the impression that a 377 was a destroked 400. 4.125" bore with a 3.48" stroke. High *** reving engine.

A stock- bore 400 destroked to 3.48" is a 372. You can bore it .030 and that's one way to get 377 cid.

I have seen cars with A4 trans work with that much power. You'd have to have something to hold down the end caps and support the rear end with some sort of girdle.

M5 or M6 trans kills the rear end, I suspect, because of the 5000 rpm launch.

Why not run a Ford 8.8 rear Every one overlooks these for the 12 bolts and the Ford 9'. 8.8's are not much weaker if any compared to the 9'.I have heard of a few LS1 M6 guys running them with great sucess and they are cheaper too. Also look at all the fox body Mustangs running 9's and 10's on there 8.8's.Just my .02.

8.8"..

what about issues like panard bar mount and spring perches. Without someone who has welded these up,, its a trial and error job. Any of these being mass produced?
