1989 Idle problem

1989 Idle problem

I have a 1989 Formula 350. When I'm sitting at a stop and just idleing the RMP's shoot up to 2,500RPM. Has anyone ever experinced this before? And what is the proble? How can I fix it? Thank

im not sure of ur problem,but a couple years ago we had a 95 tahoe and when u stopped at a stop sign for more then 5 seconds it would like give itself gas almost and lunge forward. but it didnt go up to 2500 RPM's tho. try looking at your filters,MAF sensor,and anything caught up in any of your intake pieces.

Clean TB and IAC. Adjust IAC and then TPS and see what happens. This is assuming you have no vacuum leaks.
