Question 1988 Iroc

Looking for input to a car with this description:

Vehicle Description

THIS IS A VERY NICE, LOW MILAGE, 350 TUNED PORT IROC WITH NO T-TOPS. CAR IS FULLY LOADED WITH ALL FACTORY OPTIONS, BUT NO T-TOPS. THIS CAR IS EQUIPED WITH ALL THE RIGHT OPTIONS INCLUDING G80 LIMITED SLIP, G92 PERFORMANCE AXLE RATIO, UU8 BOSE STERIO,AG9 POWER DRIVERS SEAT, AND A WHOLE LOT MORE. THIS IS A 2 OWNER CAR WITH ONLY 32,740 MILES. THIS CAR HAS ALWAYS BEEN ADULT OWNED AND MAINTAINED. I AM SELLING THIS CAR FOR THE CURRENT OWNER WHO HAS HAD IT FOR ABOUT 3 YEARS. INTERIOR IS EXCELLENT EXCEPT FOR DRIVERS ARMREST THAT IS STARTING TO LIFT AROUND THE EDGES. EXTERIOR OF THE CAR IS SOLID AND RUST FREE, NEVER BEEN DRIVEN IN THE WINTER. THIS CAR DOES HAVE THE VERY TYPICAL BAD IROC PAINT, CLEARCOAT IS FADING AND LIFTING ON THE ROOF, REAR 1/4'S, AND TOPS OF THE FENDERS, THIS IS VERY COMMON ON F-BODYS OF THIS VINTAGE. WHEELS ARE MINT AND STILL HAS 2 ORIG GATORBACKS ON FRONT. THIS IS A VERY NICE LOW MILE IROC THAT IS FUN TO DRIVE, THE ONLY NEGATIVE IS THE PAINT BUT I HAVE SEEN LOW MILES IROCS PRICED NEAR THE $10K RANGE, THIS CAR IS VERY REASONABLY PRICED. CAR HAS HOOKER SHORTY HEADERS THAT WERE INSTALLED EARLY IN THE CARS LIFE, THIS APPEARS TO BE THE ONLY NON FACTORY ITEM. PLEASE EMAIL WITH ANY QUESTIONS. THIS CAR IS PRICED TO SELL!!

Vehicle Condition

CLEAN SOLID RUST FREE LOW MILE IROC, NOT MANY LEFT LIKE THIS!! FUN TO DRIVE, THIS ONE IS A SCREAMER!

:::Sorry for the caps, its a cut and paste job::::

Looking for ideas on the value of this vehicle. I ran across this and its not too far off from me, few hours, but I don't know a whole lot about the 3rd gen.

Any input?

I really don't want to know what kbb thinks it worth, I want to know what it is actually selling for real world.

I sat down looking at a car in AZ and they wanted to show me it could sell for 5k, and I know for a fact it would never sell for that much.

At any rate the pics look clean.

Whats the stock rating on these, and is the 88 a year that can get a SC without too much hassle? I think it was 86 that for whatever reason did not have a SC out for them.

Your crazy, for an L98 with all the good options G92 etc..., and only 33k?!

Theres no way. I would say if everything is in good working order, and it only needs paint going for near 4k. But you may get it lower than that.

And I say pick it up, its gonna get hard to find IROCs anymore with low miles, especially with all the right options. Paint is trivial, you can alway get that done. And parts for the cars are everywhere. he said the intereir was starting to lift in a few places, so what switch in a more ergonomic 4th gen interior.

yea, i'd say near 4-5 grand really
i'm just going off the top of my head but, that sounds like a nice car even though it doesn't have the t-tops
especially with all those options
but one thing to look for, the rpo should be b2l which is the g92 on a 350 (l98)
i would make sure it's a 350 too because you don't want to be stuck with a 305 and not know it
just a heads up

edit: to determine it's a 350, go to thirdgen.org then tech database and check it out, it'll have some common ways to see if it's a true 350 or not
also, do a search on here, i posted this question just a few months back i think it was
good luck

Yeah I found it, he wants almost 6k for it.

Its black with gray interior.

Yeah paint is no big deal, well cost money, but not terrible.

if the 8th digit of the vin number is an 8, then the car originally came with the 350

Talk him down as much as you can and see where you get...only 33K miles though, that's not bad for a 3rd gen..I think it can be had for 3 grand straight up. Good luck

For 3 grand I would consider it over night and might do the sale tomorrow, lol.

I am keeping my eye on it, i shot him an e-mail about the car in general see what I get back.

I'd pay 4-5k for that car. 33K original miles is insane for a 15 year old car! And sweet at that, with all those options. Dang! Let us know what happens man.

If you pay $3K for an L98 IROC with only 33K miles, I would say that is a hell of a deal. And after having a few 3rd gens (5 to be exact) with t tops, be glad that this one is a hard top. Ive never seen a 3 gen not leak with t tops. I just had to silicone the crap out of my roof to keep it from leakin. But anyway, ive seen those cars sell for upwards of $8K with that kind of mileage. Considering that it will need paint, I wouldnt pay more than $5k for it. Good Luck!
