They're generic small block chevy thermostats. Pretty much any automotive store should stock them.

Did you transplant the 350 in there or the 5 speed?

with the gears listed I'm going to guess the 5 speed was swapped in

yes the tranny was swapped in the first owner had the dealer do it when he got it new. just had it rebuilt in dec since there was a reason they didn't put t-5s back then behind a l98

yes that was the first rebuild on it and i think it had around 150k on it not positive though. and the rebuild wasn't cheap either $2300, pretty much the only part they reused was the tranny houseing and everything else was new, all new main shaft, gears, along with a new clutch and flywheel. i would have gone with a 500hp build for it but that ran about $3200 and they wanted $4000 to put a 6 speed in it, but at least it doesn't whine like it use too

Wow, for that much money, you probably could have had a used T56 installed at a non-dealer shop.
G-Force makes a very very strong T5 rebuild kit for about $1000, look into that next time it breaks, or the T56.

i see from your sig that u want to go with 3.45 gears ...think that through because on highway runs u arent gonna get high speeds. I have 3.42 on my TBI T-5 and at around 65mph i have around 2500rpm which is way too much for my tastes, but i must admit that the car has excellent launches from start
ps/ i also have the 160' thermostat, when driving the temp is very low and u can feel the extra power the engine has with higher oil pressure and it also takes much longer before the fans kick in when in a traffic jam ... overall i think a 160 is good

i've got 4.10's with my 5 speed and I top out at about 125mph (5th gear at 5K rpm), 3.45's in his car should bring him past 150 easily.

Re: 160 or 180 thermostat

thats what i was thinking too zepher, cause ive seen people with 3.73s and they still get up to 140. when i put my car in 5th with 2.77s it pretty much idles at 75 to 80mph so i shouldn't loose any top end speed because my car right now doesnt even have enought power to get it past 3500rpms in 5th

You guys are lucky to have 5 speeds in that you can actually top out your cars. I've got the dreaded won't shift into O/D at WOT "feature" on my car.

I guess I was really lucky then since my Formula was an auto and it had the B4C package with the WOT upshift to 4th.
