15" Rim backspacing ?

My friend recently purchased a pair of 275/?/15's for his '89 Iroc. He can get a pair of '86 15 inch rims for free, so the question is: What are the specs for the '86 15inch rim? Will the tires fit on the rim, and is the backspacing on the '86 inch rim the same as his 16's (5.5 in)? If not, what size rim will work with these tires without sticking too much, if any?

Thanks
Ryan

Stock 15" rims are only 7" wide and won't take a 275 tire. You need a wheel that's at least 8.5" wide to correctly mount that tire.

Backsapcing on the factory 15x7 rim is either 4" or 4.25" if memory serves.
