vibration

I just took my 2011 for a drive today for the first time and there is one thing that annoys me so far.I get a vibration at 40 mph and goes away 45mph and more.I am going to take it to the dealer on Tuesday knowing it is under warrantry.I feel in the front, not in the back.

Re: vibration

A wheel weight may have fallen off. Common thing and easy to diagnose and fix.

Re: vibration

I was told this by one of the techs at the dealership,Possibly a wheel weight came off and I have to get it there at 9:00 am Tuesday and I don't have pay anything.Hopefully it is a wheel weight that came off.I had this happen to my 2010 last year, wheel weight came off.I am smart to get problems fixed right away.

Re: vibration

if you have a problem with wheel weights coming off, put some duct tape over them after they rebalance them.

Re: vibration

I am not duct taping the wheel weights back on.Go to the dealer tommorrow which I do have an appointment at 9:00 AM.Tech said it could be a bad tire too and that will be checked out too.

Re: vibration

We are not saying to duct tape them back on. Just to put duct tape over them to keep them from coming off in the first place. It is a common practice.

Let us know what your dealer says.

Re: vibration

the wheel needs re balanced. put duct tape on the wheel weight after they put the new ones on. they use this in racing all the time. if your wheels are black buy black duct tape, silver , use silver duct tape. they make duct tape in just about every color. you wont even notice it.

Re: vibration

Found the problem Tuesday, wheel weights came off the left front wheel.Rest of the three were rebalanced at the same time.Did put duct tape on the rims.I even gave the tech a $20.00 tip since I was real happy. This is one of my babies and I get mad if I see a scratch or hand print is found.
