[Tires] Thinking of putting a set of Nitto Tires on your 5th gen (or even 4th gen) Camaro???
I'm not sure if this should be in this section since we're talking about a set of tires slated for the upcoming Camaro SS or if it should be regulated to the tire section or even "Future Automobiles", but I trust it will wind up in the correct section.
I happened to recieve a set of Nitto NT05s, and was asked to write my thoughs on them. The tires came early this month and I mounted them on the car just over a week ago.
I will be putting my thoughts down in my blog pretty much every week, both good and bad. I'm sure a few might not only be considering them for their own 5th gen Camaro, but also might be intrested in how they perform on 4th gen F-bodies as well.
You can keep up weekly or so on my blog at https://www.camaroz28.com/forums/blog.php?b=70

New blog on the tires are up.
Initially, I had planned to post a little something each week, but fate & weather had other intentions. In addition to being down (and therfore forced to spend more time on the computer for entertainment than driving) there isn't much you can do with performance tires when it's raining almost every day.
But, since California has had it's raining season, I figured I'd post wet weather performance since that's mostly all we've had since early February.
Enjoy.

*One clarification I need to make:
These tires will NOT be standard issue on the new Camaro. That was a misunderstanding on my part.
Although I'm using the tires on a 4th gen Camaro (which is in fact an entirely different beast than the 5th gen in almost every regard), hopefully my observations and notes in my blogs will help you to decide if these are the tires for your 5th gen (or even 4th gen, 3rd, 2nd, or 1st gen) Camaro.
Like everything, there is both good and not so good aspects. However, since everyone has different priorities, desires, and what area they are willing to compromise on to get more of what they want in a tire, I'm posting all my observations so you can make as good a decision as possible if these tires are for you.

You want to be a little more specific? What tire, what size, what car, and what problems did you have?
Nitto makes some excellent tires, but if you use them for a purpose other than the one for which they were intended, I can see how you wouldn't like them.
Put 555Rs on a daily driver, for example, and you'll hate them because they don't last very long, and they're not great in the rain. Put NT450s on a 600hp drag car, and you'll hate those too.

We are currently testing the Nitto Invos on our Nickey Super Camaro project.
Thus far we have a few hundred miles of dry road use. Later this week we will be track testing them.
How do I get to be able to post pictures?
