My Tranny shifts like a girl

I just recieved delivery of my new Camaro 2SS. I sold my 2005 GTO. I am used to a much firmer shift, the GTO would chrip the tires going to 2nd from the factory. What can I do to get the same result without voiding factory warrentee?

Find a tuner that can firm up the shift points? Give Vector Motorsports a call, see if they can straighten you out and tell them that CamaroZ28.Com sent you.

I guess this car unlike the new GT500's doesn't have a traction control switch? I know if you go to the hennessey web site they have a utube link to the 1/4 run on their stockk SS and they do get a pronounced chirp out of second at about 55-60 mph. Although I would describe it better as a scratch rather then chirp. Those tires were nice and warm.

Yes its an auto. He'd be calling himself a girl if it was a manual.

Yes these cars do come with a traction control switch.

I should've assumed it was an auto. However assumptions are something I try to avoid. Thanks for clarifacation. And thank you for the info on a TCS. I am a little surprised that if the TCS was off that you don't get a bark out of 1st into 2nd. I bet that extra 26hp you waive for an auto,or the fuel economy improvement cost you the chirp?

You're doing it again...

If the traction control is off its just a case of very soft shifting.

Thanks to VVT, the L99 has a wider powerband with better midrange power compared to the LS3. All other things being equal (i.e., if you swapped a TR6060 into an L99 car), it should be better at chirping the tires.

Could be, but my GTO had only a 6.0 and it had a great firm shift!

I didnt know that the L99 had VVT and AFM. I assume the LS3 does not have VVT?

Correct. That's why the L99 gets better mileage then the LS3.

What kind of mileage is the L99 actually getting. In my LS3 I can get about 28-29 on a highway at 70mph.
