There have been a few to get th new lifters, but never said if it took care of the problem.
Hey, thanks for this info. Do you happen to have the TSB number?

Mine does

Mine ticks and slaps at start up.... but runs so smooth after, like my 6.0l 2500HD and my 07 5.3 Suburban I really hate to have some young pup tearing my new engine apart..

Re: L99 Lifter noise at startup

Made a appointment to see service manager today... I live in small town north of London Ont.. Canada------My dealer is in a nearby town.... Big GM store.. They sell lots of luxury cars and trucks... probably only 6-8 Camaros..
I bought car 2SS/RS Sept 10 with 17,460km now has 18,311km I have car in heated garage, with collision off it until next May (winter in Canada)
Car ticks for 20 seconds, better at 30 seconds and quiet at 1.5-2 minutes Car runs fine ..no drone..
I explained, I preferred to leave factory engine sealed.. Service manager, says he will look for recent info on lifters... He has some issues with 5.3's but no 6.2's.. He reminded me that the TSB's are used to help people with specific problems... A customer with remote start... e.g. will never hear it... lol He assured me the ticking and piston slap will not cause engine to fail He will do whatever I want for 5 years and 160,000km If I keep this car 10 (ten) years it will not have 100,000km (60,000miles) on it... so I will get it out in the spring, and drive it like I stole it....
