Talking how much rwhp has anyone gotten with a tune?

I am waiting for my corsa exhaust, as soon as it shows up I am going to get the car tuned. It is an auto and I have already installed a henessey cold air intake and fabbed up a aluminum box to sheild the heat. cant wait to get rid of fuel management, drives me nuts in traffic. I'm gonna have a buddy at walsh motorsports tune it ,he just did my 2003 8.1 liter gmc 2500 with a whipple got 520 ft lbs at the tires and ran out of injectors.hopefully the camaro goes well

do headers then tune it. get the most from your tune. especially if you have any plans for future mods.

Alot of L99 cars are getting upwards of 25-30 RWHP from just a tune. The LS3's get about 12-15 RWHP. There are substantial torque gains too I just forget.

So when you guys are referring to "getting a tune" are you meaning taking it and having the computer set for max performance or ???

Yes...The main thing that is adjusted is the timing. Right now my car is seeing 32degrees at peak. Stock is was maxed out at 20ish. As soon as I get the headers and CAI done I will dyno it. I wont have a stock dyno number, but I will flash and re-flash during to get an idea. I'm guessing at least 60 additional HP with the mods.

Too much timing wacker.... it's not going to hold right.. The slightest lean condition could break your engine... I would lower it PLENTY.

The ls1 we tuned back in school we ran around 32 degrees a little on the rich side and it only sees wot on the dyno and has lasted a few years with the abuse the students put on it. Idk specs on the ls3 or l99 but i would guess it is as safe if not safe on one of them than a ls1.

Dyno is one thing... street is another... put some load on it and let the temp rise like it does on the street and see what happens. Keeping it on the rich side will make it live even with some detonation... but a single variance in fueling on the lean side will grenade it.

Most of the LS3 2010's I've tuned are in the 380-425rwhp range depending on what's done to them. I just did a 2010 LS3 car last week that I put AR headers/no cats on, and a tune. Made 404/410.
