Re: Engine swap from V6 to V8
I think you mentioned in another post that you were interested in buying a V6 and then upgrading. I think you may want to consider just getting the V8 to start with.

Re: Engine swap from V6 to V8
It is more than just remove and replace of the engine. There is the ECM, transmission, possibly driveline changes, etc. Don't forget about labor. It will get expensive. Plus if you want it to be close to a true SS, there is the brake upgrade, front fascia change, etc.
There's no shame in the V6, which can be modded nicely and has tons of power.

Re: Engine swap from V6 to V8
The 2010-2011 Camaro LT/LS (V6) has almost as much power as my 2002 Camaro SS (V8) had.
Gotta love technology and progress.
BTW...I noticed your location. I grew up in Mulliken...

Yup, I even worked in Portland a couple of times. Is there still a Walt's On Inn downtown? They used to have good burgers.
Now you are thinking!

Re: Engine swap from V6 to V8
Supercharger usually build boost off the crankshaft and a belt to spin it, meaning it uses power to make power.
Turbo uses exhaust gas to spin the turbine to make boost. It doesn't necessarily use power to make power, but it does rely on the exhaust as well as tubing to feed the turbo, etc.
