Cold Air Induction for the 2010 V8 with No Oil?

Dealer advises to watch out for CAI aftermarkets due to oil from the filter being sucked in and effecting sensors.

Any advice for a good Camaro 2010 CAI kit for the V8 that only uses a dry filter system?

What the dealer says is partially true. Most (if not all) oil-based air filters suggest that you only put a very thin coat of oil on the filter. As a lot of people think "if a little is good, a lot is better" and that is not always the case. I am sure that if you completely soak the filter...sure, some oil will make it to the sensor but you would really have to overdo it, IMO.

I don't know of a good dry filter system off the top of my head, though.

Dry CAI filter

I put a dry one on from roto-fab, comes with oil or dry, dry is $12.00 extra and is washable, do not have any issues yet and was easy to install, no codes.

As Jason mentioned the oil based filters really require a hearty "over-do-it" application for any to pass through and affect the MAF, etc...

In general the oil coated filters will produce more power while the non-oil are slightly easier to maintain. If you follow the directions from the K&N recharge kit it is hard to mess up on the oil filers IMO. Hope that helps.
